The site seems incredibly slow to load pages & acting weird - for example usually after selecting 'forums' I would see a drop down list to choose from but this is not happening. I am using an iPad currently, which I often use. Everything was fine yesterday
I think MM has released some significant upgrades.
Not seeinfg any issue with the site being slow, but have noticed a few changes:
Recently, when you clicked on "Notifications", the number of new ones would disapear when you arrived at the page, which was annoying if you forgot how many you had to check. The number now shows for first page load, which is the way it used to work previously.
The Sales line is now showing a number if there have been sales. That's how it used to work but stopped a while back - nice to have it back.
Menus - and I suspect this is what the OP is seeing - it used to be that while on a traditional computer, the drop-down menus worked well, on Android devices they were a nightmare. The problem was that the first item - the one that pops out the menu - was also a link of it's own. I gather on Apple devices like iPads, tapping the menu item once simply caused the menu to drop down. BUT, on Android devices, though the menu would still pop down, the browser would also immediately start to follow the first item link, so unless you had the reactions and precision of a superhero, it was almost impossible to tap anything from the drop-down, as you'd get whisked away to wherever the first item led, immediately.
When I first became a mod this was a nightmare as the only way to activate Admin mode depended on being able to hit the secone item in a drop-menu, which would frequently take dozens of attempts to actually do on my phone. Fortunalety MM quickly added a link at the bottom of the site to do the same thing in mobile view.
I noticed yesterday that the drop-menus no longer appear when I view the site on my phone, that navigation now having been replaced by the newer menu on the left on our profile pages.
The other option would have been to lose the links from the top items so those only popped out the menus, with the first link becoming the first pop-out item - so the Profile menu would have the actual Profile link as the first drop-down item, Preferences as the second, and so on. But that would mean an extra click/tap to get to each of the menu's main items, which I guess is why MM's done it the way he has.

Pulldowns are now killed for mobile. I uploaded that change yesterday before I added the new hamburger menu at the top left, but it's there now. I hope for folks to use that instead. Pulldowns are annoying on mobile because your first tap only makes the menu appear (in lieu of a mouse hover function on mobile), and you have to tap the same button again to actually go to the page it's actually linked to. Now it only takes one tap to go to the page because there's no pulldown nav.
As for site slowness, I don't have any record of that, as the servers have been running fine.

The old functionality will return. It should read as 0 as soon as you get to the notifications page. It's not consistent if you refresh the page and it shows you a different number just because you refreshed. Once you're looking at it, the number of "unseen" ones should immediately be 0. Just like if you look at an email or inbox message, it's considered "viewed" immediately. The notifications page itself tells you how many you have, but point taken in that there is no way to know how many unread ones you have once that number is removed.

That's still not working 100% but I hope to have it there by the weekend.

Thanks for that reminder. I actually forgot that Android doesn't convert mouseovers into a "first tap." One more reason the pulldowns don't really work well for mobile.

That's exactly right. The fewer clicks the better IMO. Always trying to figure how to reduce those while giving maximum functionality. Not that I succeed at it but that's the goal
